Realistic Fake Blood SFX Makeup
Prep skin first
Clean and dry your skin before application. For wound effects, apply liquid latex or scar wax to build fake
cuts, gashes or scratches. Fake blood adheres better on textured prosthetic surface.
Layer different fake blood textures
Use coagulated blood gel for dried, crusty old wounds; apply on wound edges to simulate clotted blood.
Use liquid fake blood for fresh flowing bleeding effect, drip from cuts, run down face, neck or costume.
Use fake blood spray for splatter effect on face, clothes and props, perfect for zombie attack scene.
Create depth for wound simulation
Put darker thick blood inside the fake cut, then thin runny liquid blood on top and let it slowly flow down.
Do not spread blood evenly; real blood gathers in crevices and drips downward.
Mix with face paint for natural tone
Blend a small amount of fake blood with red / dark brown face paint around wound edges. Soften hard
borders to avoid cartoon‑looking bright red. Add tiny black paint for bruise and dirty injury look.
Apply on costumes & props together
Spray or drip fake blood onto clothing to match your face makeup. Splattered stains on clothes greatly
improve overall realistic horror effect.
Important safety & removal note
Choose non‑toxic, skin‑friendly fake blood. Avoid direct contact with eyes, mouth and open real wounds.
This washable fake blood can be easily rinsed off with warm water & mild soap after party.
